The key suggestion is that there may be fundamental constraints on dissipative many-body dynamics that pertain beyond the quasiparticle paradigm. I will describe work aiming to elucidate these constraints from experiments, solvable theoretical models, and the general formalism of quantum statistical physics.\n \n
