SUMMARY:Using Photoswitchable Imines to Drive (dark)Transimination Reactions Uphill
DESCRIPTION:\n \n \n \n\nJake Greenfield grew up in Bristol (UK) and completed his MSci in Chemistry at Imperial College London. He earned his PhD at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Prof. Jonathan Nitschke, where he worked on the self-assembly of helical metallopolymers. Jake then joined Prof. Matthew Fuchter’s group at Imperial College London as a postdoctoral researcher, working on molecular photoswitches. In 2022, he moved to Würzburg, Germany as a Humboldt Fellow with Prof. Frank Würthner. Since 2023, he has led the Greenfield Group as a Liebig Fellow, focusing on photoswitchable imines and light-driven out-of-equilibrium chemistry. In 2024 he was made an Emil-Fischer Fellow at the Faculty. Beyond the science, Jake is passionate about mentoring researchers, collaborative teamwork, and enjoys drinking too much coffee…\nAwards & Prizes\n\nChemiedozententagung Presentation Prize (Session A), 2025\nEmil-Fischer Fellowship (Junior Professor status), 2024\nLiebig Fellowship, Fonds der Chemischen Industrie, 2023\nAlexander von Humboldt Fellowship, 2022\nEvans Medal in Inorganic Chemistry (Imperial College London), 2015\nDOW® Award for Best Final Year Presentation, 2015\n\nEducation\n\nImperial College London (MSci, 2015, 1st Class Hons.)\nUniversity of Cambridge (PhD, 2020)\n\n\nPlease, let us know if you plan to attend by registering here:\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n table {\n border-collapse: collapse;\n }\n td {\n border: 0px solid black;\n }\n\n\n	\n \n First Name:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n \n Last Name:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n \n Institution/Group:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n \n E-mail:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n \n Newsletter ( https://sympa.cms.hu-berlin.de/sympa/subscribe/csmb.news ): By checking this box, you agree to receive updates, information, and event dates from us.\n \n \n	\n	\n \n \n \n \n	\n\n\n\n\nNo entry fee.\nDuring the event, photo and video recordings might be made.
